NEXT LORD-LIEUTENANT OF
WORCESTERSHIRE:
AN OPEN LETTER FROM THE PRIME MINISTER’S APPOINTMENTS
SECRETARY
All those who knew him will have
been deeply saddened by the death of Michael Brinton,
Lord-Lieutenant of Worcestershire, earlier this year. Part of the
process of identifying possible successors is to carry out
soundings locally. I am responsible for overseeing this. After
receiving responses, and conducting some interviews, I have to
report to the Prime Minister on the results and make a proposal as
to who should be recommended to The Queen as the next
Lord-Lieutenant.
I should be very grateful to hear
the views of anyone living in the County on the challenges facing
the County over the next 10 years or so; any attributes you think
particularly desirable in a new Lord-Lieutenant, and any names you
think should be considered as part of the appointment process. A
paper on the role of the Lord-Lieutenant is attached to help
you.
I would appreciate it very much if
you would send your views to Mrs Julie Descher at jdescher@worcestershire.gov.uk
by 15 October. They would of course be treated in
strictest confidence.
Yours sincerely
RICHARD TILBROOK
