WWE News: FCW name being phased out

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

The name Florida Championship Wrestling is being phased out by WWE for its developmental territory.

For the past week, several of the upcoming house shows were advertised using the NXT name instead of the FCW name. The FCW titles have been dropped in favor of the NXT title. There is no FCW television show, although the NXT show does not air in Florida.

The web site is now transitioning names as well with a new site debuting with all references to FCW, FCW Universe and such being eliminated, although the old FCW URL still works.
