it is ready, the two large parts that are missing are basic triggers to interact with objects, and dialogue balloons to display text in. the game is being written in c#, using the xna4.0 framework. if you happen to be a great programmer, you'll have the side-job of explaining me what you do; i'm very willing to get a few pointers on my own programming style. -concept artists i will require you to draw to your hearts content. the game world needs visualization, in order to get storywriters, musicians and level designers all on the same line. i need things draw such as a forest from high above, a frog's view of a castle, or a map of the world. -character designers same description as above, except for that this applies to characters, both human and animal/monster. if you can do both this and the above, even better! -storywriter the main storyline is set, but it lacks drama, content, depth. please help me out by giving it your touch of storytelling, thicken the history of the game world, give enemies a life and friendly characters a meaning. -gamedesigner most of it is done, but that doesn't mean it can't be improved. it is most unlikely that any features will be added or removed at 2d artist moonset gaming anywhere artists moonset gaming is looking for an amiable and largely diligent 2d artist to provide character design and sprite work for our current rpg project of passion, lusipurr's fountain of perpetual disappointment. the game has been in development for over a year but is only kicking into a higher gear now. this means that you'll be coming into an already formed team with a wealth of assets that have already been created for code that is quite far along. still, this is an unpaid indie project, so there is respect for your schedule and a willingness to reasonably bend on deadlines. all that being said, we have been lucky to enjoy a very high bar for the current artists on the team, so your work and rapport will have to match the rest of the team. in terms of specifics, the project is creatively collaborative, so someone who is unafraid to make suggestions and is also unhindered by criticism is a must. stylistically, the game is a 2d rpg in the vein of the super nintendo final fantasy games, except with largely hand-drawn graphics. the artist we're looking for will have some wiggle room in terms of style for the sprite designs, so somebody with a proficiency in both pixel and traditional 2d art is a great asset; although the latter is more important. your main tasks will be character design, character avatars for dialogue, and spritemaps. however, depending on your enthusiasm and availability, there is room to spill over into other departments. the following things are by no means requirements, but will certainly be held in your favour: -residence in the greater toronto area -a fondness for turn-based rpgs -ability to answer e-mails within 24-48 hours -an affinity for peach pie while the position is technically unpaid, if the game makes money, you will make money. however - as stated - this is a project of passion for everybody on the team, so we expect the same from you. there are more assets than the very small number supplied on the development blog. if you apply with interest and we respond with interest, more interesting assets will be shared! a brief plot and gameplay description is below. the ominous and eccentric lusipurr has turned the real world into an rpg! only some people are aware of how things used to be while others are slowly losing their personalities to a horrible disease called npc. can oliver fulfill his cliché and turn into a hero from his reluntant beginnings? this tongue-in-cheek homage to the turn-based rpgs of old is crammed with creative monsters, swappable job classes, and entertaining dialogue. lusipurr's fountain of disappointment is a smart and silly game crammed with nostalgia and hours if not minutes of fun.
