These days a ton of game developers use twitter to interact with their fans and keep them informed of updates. A lot of these updates may just be minor and not worthy of a news post, but worthy all the same - which is why we have just integrated twitter feed support into all profiles across the site.
Right now you can add your twitter feed to your personal profile as I have done. If you are developing a game, mod or engine you can also add it to the profiles you are in control of. If you are in charge of a group or company on the site you can also add it there. Provided your twitter stream is public, we will pull the tweets from it and display them in your profile. Here is how it looks in my profile (shown on the right sidemenu).
...but the feature i'm most happy with is the ability to add multiple twitter feeds to the one profile. Let's take Mojang the makers of Minecraft for example. Mojang has a ton of employee's such as Notch and Jeb all of whom have twitter accounts. The system supports that too, just enter all twitter feeds separated by comma and the latest tweets from everywhere is shown.
We hope that soon on game, mod and engine profiles you will be able to see tweets from all the developers on EA's profile you will be able to see tweets from all of their games and so on. Enjoy!

A few big updates have just been deployed which are among a few projects we are working on at the moment. But first up, and one we hope will add significant discussion and interaction to this site for all of the developers out there...
Beginning right now, new members can join this site and start participating in the discussion via their social network accounts, or existing members can connect their accounts so signing in is just a matter of clicking a button. Do this right now just click any of the icons below:
By making this process easy, hopefully more will join and comment. Oh and we will never automatically post to your twitter or facebook page, because sites that do that are lame.
Looking for paid work? There is a new filter on the jobs board which allows you to search for paying jobs. We've already got two excellent positions listed from Techtonic Games, so if you fancy your programming or level design skills you should apply.
Finally, interested in Max Payne 3 and want to see where it all began? Game and mod profiles can now be connected so on the right menu you will notice Max Payne 1 & 2 listed. Like Diablo III but still think 2 is better? Again sequels are all listed, connect your game and mod profiles today!
We've got a cool little project in the works for mobile gamers and developers up next, so check back in a few weeks for updates on it! Hope you enjoyed the updates!

We've talked about implementing HD quality videos for a long time and finally they have arrived. It will take a while for our system to render all 30,000 videos in HD, but you will notice more and more making the quality jump.
Another very cool change, is how we handle "related" content on game, development groups and engine profiles. At the moment news and downloads only show up in these profiles if the content is directly associated with it. From now on however, if you post news about your mod for Half-Life, that news will show up in the Half-Life profile as it is in-directly related. The same applies for your development group, news you post to your game profile will show up there. This change should help interlink content across the sites a lot better, and make game, engine and group profiles feel a lot less empty.

As the supply of IPv4 addresses has basically come to an end, we have just completed our support of IPv6. It wasn't an easy transition, but for users on IPv6 the site should now be fully responsive. Now for an image of me puzzling over some of the webservers powering the site you are on now.
In less technical news, the homepage on ModDB and IndieDB now shows more news so that way you don't get your new article pushed off the front page as soon as it is posted.
Desura now supports direct downloads (for example) of games, so when you buy content you have the option to download it via the application or download (mostly DRM free) copies directly from the website. So you get the best of both worlds, plus this means while the app doesn't work on Mac, you can still buy and download Mac games directly from Desura.
Finally, some new genres have been added for games and mods to pick:
Action
- Stealth
RPG
- Roguelike
Strategy
- Tower Defense
- Grand Strategy
- 4X
- Real Time Tactics
- Turn Based Tactics
Game on!

ModDB/IndieDB are at GDC 2012 this year, and as you may have seen already the site has not be updated frequently as normal. This is because we are quite busy meetin, greetin and pimpin developers. Our focus will be to create articles on the events that will be focused on the developers themselves. We are a very small team and we can only devote ourselves to the aspects of the event we deem to be worthy of the site.
So as mentioned the site will be running a little slow with news authing, not a whole lot we can do considered the work load. Please be a little understanding of this.
