Case Study - Lambourn Associates Limited

Introduction

Lambourn AssociatesI set up Lambourn Associates Limited three years ago after a successful career in corporate life. Growth was initially achieved through a network of contacts built up over a number of years. Revenues grew each year from a combination of consultancy, interim management and non executive roles in medical device companies also working closely with a number of private equity firms.

Investment in Marketing

The success of this business had been achieved by networking and working with existing contacts and as the end of 2008 approached, we decided to invest in marketing ahead of the economic slowdown. We needed a fresh image for the business as well as a website and increased PR, in order to extend the business client base and also to present a more professional image for existing clients.

Marketing in Action

I first met Nigel Morgan at the end of 2008. Morgan PR was very helpful in defining what was needed and the steps to be taken in raising the profile of the business in a short period of time. I received a summary of the project soon after our meeting, fully priced, which was very helpful in the planning and budgeting process.

Nigel has many contacts and was able to put me in touch with an excellent, creative graphic designer,Pathos Design. Frances Scott of Pathos Design quickly provided 12 alternative designs for a new logo. We were able to mix and match and we finally settled on a logo which represented what this business was all about. Frances was then able to design new business cards, letterheads, invoices and other stationery in order to present a consistent image for the company. Everything was printed and delivered quickly.

Nigel Morgan also arranged for a new website to be created by Companion Computers. This, again, was an easy process as Nigel had spent some time with me to understand the business. He then presented a storyboard which picked up all the key elements of the business. I was able to provide some copy and we agreed on some appropriate illustrations. Everything went smoothly and the website is now up and running.

Result

I am pleased to report that, within a couple of weeks of launch, we received our first enquiry from the website. This was from a private equity investor in a company which has designed and patented a revolutionary new surgical suturing system. They want Lambourn Associates to help them commercialise this new concept. The expertise and collaboration between Morgan PR, Companion Computers and Pathos Design has provided the bespoke solution we required as a platform for future company growth.
