The Famous Five of Twitter that you really must #FollowFriday

We continue our newfound tradition of blogging #FollowFriday to both spare the Twittersphere the slow grinding death of overloading and so we can do more than the mindless list of names that so many people Tweet! Today we are telling you who we think are the five most useful people to follow on Twitter.

You’ll see no celebrities, real or assumed, in our Famous Five for #FollowFriday – oh no! We are looking at high calibre Tweeps who really add something with just about each and every Tweet that comes from their virtual beaks.

Obviously there are lots and lots more great people we could be urging you to follow, not least our many friends on Twitter in Newbury and around West Berkshire, but these are @Nigel_Morgan and @MorganPR ‘s Famous Five: Nikki, Jason, Mark, Marketing Donut and Mashable.

Nikki Pilkington on Twitter@NikkiPilkington is just awesome! I will be meeting her for lunch today @LePetitSquare in Newbury, West Berkshire as she tours around friends and clients on a trip from her base in France. Consistently she has been abundantly tweeting great advice, important Twitter health warnings and has unwaveringly been among the first to ReTweet anything important we have to say and she manages to pick out the best Tweets from almost 8,000 followers.

Jason Pollock on Twitter@Jason_Pollock is someone I have only just discovered after associates told me about him and said he was a terrific Twitter, and I have to agree! Streams of Twittering goodness full of those fun and educational links that make belonging to Twitter so worthwhile. Something else he unstintingly does is quote the fellow Twitter that a link may have originally been Tweeted by. So give the guy a follow and join more than 61,000 others!

Mark Shaw on Twitter@MarkShaw is all about helping businesses on Twitter and abundant with his advice and time. He Tweets about his great training videos, but never forgets about the social part of social media and entertains with what he gets up to, who he meets and what he is reading. He also replies to you! They guy has over 16,000 followers and will happily tweet back at you, and was quick to comment on our blog post about estate agents getting Twitter wrong.

Marketing Donut on Twitter@MarketingDonut is another abundant Twitter that you just have to follow. They merrily Tweet away and tell you about the cracking small business advice and articles on the Marketing Donut website (incidentally, Morgan PR has been asked to contribute so will hopefully be appearing there soon.) They also are great ReTweeters and will share nuggets they spot among their 6,475 followers.

@Mashable is the Twitter feed of Pete Cashmore and a terrific team of people behind the Mashable website which is an invaluable source of information about the latest Twitter tools and applications. There is a good chance if you are following @Nigel_Morgan on Twitter you will have often seen my links leading you to @Mashable pages. They publish a tremendous volume of terrific stuff and tell you about it here on Twitter. Over 1.3 million followers cannot be wrong.

What do you think? Who would your Famous Five on Twitter be for #FollowFriday? Please comment and reveal what you believe!
