Newbury Business Group: now with prize winning one minutes
Naturally we consider Newbury Business Group to be the foremost networking organisation in West Berkshire; free of the rules that embrace so many networking groups it is a terrific way to kick start a Friday morning.
We recently introduced a new competition that is proving popular among members and entertaining our guests. Now when everyone gives their one minute presentation there is an added incentive to do your very best – with members voting on the one they enjoyed the most. The winner would then bring in a prize the following week and so on.
The group’s chairman, Nigel Morgan of Morgan PR kicked off the competition with a box of the freshest eggs from our corporate hens in Hungerford, which were won by John Clark of CRM specialists Solutions Shared with a highly entertaining 60 seconds that saw him scatter business cards across the floor – representing the way many people approach their customer relationships!
In turn John brought a laser pointer that doubles up as a presentation tool and allows you to click through a PowerPoint. That was awarded to award winning virtual PA, Lisa Chaffey, of In a Pickle, who had cheered everyone with her sparkling welcome and news that she has employed a new member of staff, a ‘picklette’ if you will.
She is pictured above with her prize with an image she published on Twitter this morning via her Twitter account. Now it is Lisa’s turn to bring in a prize and so the competition will continue.
The Newbury Business Group meets every Friday morning from 7.30-9.00 at Donnington Valley Golf Club in Newbury, guests are welcome (and the group does not charge guests for breakfast!) and just need to get in touch through the website to let us know they are attending.
