Child Care

SCB is unable to offer on site care for children of delegates as we do not have licensed facilities available. However, there are nanny services available in the Auckland area that can be utilised for either day or evening care. The local organising committee provides information for one such company who is willing to assist ICCB delegates with child care based at your accommodation or in a nanny's home.

They can allocate a Nanny to one or two families with the Nanny having a maximum of four charges in her care. Children can be cared for at the home of the nanny or at the family's accommodation. Nannies can also take children to places like the Auckland Zoo, Kelly Tarlon's, etc. upon the family's request. The Nanny can arrange to pick the children up from the meeting venue and care for the children in their home and then drop the children back to the Hotel. Families can drop off and pick up themselves if they prefer. Individual requirements can be discussed with the agency director.
Rates/fees:
A per day fee is charged by the agency for booking a nanny for you.
Hourly rates for nannies vary depending on the number of children, location of care and time of day (evening hourly rates are less). Shared care of two families by one nanny is also available making the cost per family lower. PLease inquire for exact costs.
For offsite care a mileage allowance of .70 cents per KM from the Hotel to the Nanny's home and back is charged although a reasonable set rate can be discussed.
For onsite care the nanny's parking fee will need to be compensated.
Payment of fees and rates is due at the end of the day's care.
Each designated Nanny would be a "Premium Nanny" who has a safe and approved child friendly home. She would also live in close proximity to the Hotel. The Nanny would need to be able to readily access the entrance way to the Hotel in order to make the pick up and drop off process hassle free. A Nanny could also be available to care for your child at your accommodation base.
The company policy requires that each family complete a registration form so each child's requirements is known. Please contact Trisha to make arrangements. It is helpful to provide the number and age of your children, your desired base for care, and dates/times of care required.
Please note that you will need to provide nappies (diapers), formula, *carseat and *portacot as nannies will not have any on hand. All clothing and items provided to the Nannies must be clearly labelled, further details will be discussed at time of booking. All bookings must be made by November 3rd.
*These items can be rented from providers in Auckland if required.
