Name Badge of Honour from Newbury’s Recognition Express

Name Badge of Honour from Newbury’s Recognition Express

For networking to work you need to be consistently polished, have a good one minute elevator pitch, plenty of business cards – but perhaps most importantly you need to be clearly identified, hence the need for that all important name badge.

A proper professional name badge speaks volumes way beyond your name, company name and if properly designed your tagline too. Morgan PR got our first badge some eight years ago from Recognition Express in Newbury and when that badge finally wore out it we went back to Recognition Express.

Keith Burr runs the Newbury business and is the go-to guy for not just name badges but all manner of branded merchandise and is a familiar face at networking meetings across Berkshire.

Twitter badges, Nigel Morgan PRYou’ll also find him on Twitter as @RENewbury and it was through Twitter I asked about a new badge and that prompted me to go for more than a simple name badge and with guidance and a template I was able to design a second badge with my main Twitter identities.

My main account is @Nigel_Morgan which when my name is Nigel Morgan means most Twitter followers manage to work out that I might be one and the same! However, the same cannot be said for @DailyPRTips and @DailyTwitTips which are not personally branded.

The names badges that Recognition Express provided are superb quality and so easy to read and already since wearing both badges I have met people networking who did not know me as @Nigel_Morgan, but did avidly follow our sage advice on @DailyPRTips and @DailyTwitTips Spotting the alternative identities has sparked conversations and even led to a Social Media Mentoring client.

Morgan PR is a leading Berkshire public relations and social media consultancy and we often explain that businesses need to consider being on multiple social media channels as your clients will choose to interact on the channel they are most comfortable with. So with Twitter names being badge friendly – certainly more so than Facebook - you should be wearing them on a badge with pride.

If you would like a pristine name badge for your networking then do contact Keith Burr at Recognition Express, where he will help you and ask no more than £10 for an individual badge – or two if you are thinking about putting your Twitter name on show.

Maree Lock, Basingstoke PhotographerA big thank you goes to Basingstoke photographer Maree Lock from Reflections Photography who is someone else who wears a badge from Recognition Express. She was on hand when Keith Burr hand-delivered my badges at a recent networking event and captured the happy moment pictured here! Perhaps a bit different from the wedding photography this North Hampshire photographer usually takes! Oh yes, and she too can be found on Twitter -  so follow @MareeReflection

Great idea Nigel! I've just ordered my own Twitter badge from Keith.
