Financial Times: Fresh Tymoshenko charges cast doubt on Kyiv's EU commitment

In an Oct. 13 report in the Financial Times, Roman Olearchyk writes:"Ukraine has launched fresh criminal charges against Yulia Tymoshenko just two days after she was jailed for seven years. Kyiv's decision to pursue a new prosecution against the former prime minister calls into question its commitment to European Union integration. EU officials had warned Viktor Yanukovych, Ukraine’s president, that “politically motivated” prosecutions of Tymoshenko and her allies could derail Kyiv's hopes of completing trade and political agreements this December with the 27-nation bloc."
