Boat

For a scenic arrival offering unrivalled sightseeing of this historic city, you may choose to make your entrance in style on a boat sailing along the mighty Thames. Ferryman companies operate a regular service to and from the Victoria Embankment and, from the jetty, it is just a short walk into the heart of Covent Garden.

During your river voyage you will see the major sites of London. Whichever way you travel you will be confronted by extremes of ancient and modern architecture: If arriving from the east you will come within a short distance with the Tower of London and the Gherkin building. If your voyage brings you to Covent Garden from the west you will go past the majestic Houses of Parliament and Big Ben as well as the London Eye as it transports your fellow sightseers in a stately circle above the Thames.

We can’t promise a lost whale in the water but you never know the mysteries that this vital river is concealing.

For more information about how to use river Thames, please visit Transport For London (new window) and telephone number is 020 7222 1234.
