If you are on a tight budget, there are ways you can reduce costs. When ordering invitations, one of the best ways to cut back is to shop around. Some people sell invitations out of their homes at a ten to twenty percent discount. You can also order invitations by mail. Remember to make sure the stationers are experienced professionals since invitation layout and wording can be complicated. When choosing a printing process, note that thermography produces a raised letter effect similar to engraving, but is less expensive. Choose a standard size invitation to reduce your mailing costs and order about twenty-five extra invitations. It is more expensive to re-order since the stationer will usually charge another set-up fee. Also, order plain, matching envelopes to avoid any extra charges for envelope lining. A big expense reduction can be made by elimination response cards. Instead, include an RSVP and a phone number on the invitation. This can reduce your costs by eliminating the additional envelope as well as the return stamp. It may also make the invitation lighter which will help you avoid additional postage.
