Attire & Appearance

Attendants' outfits
Creativity, tradition, and personal preference can all play a role when choosing the wedding attendants' outfits. Bridesmaids are usually clothed in matching dresses chosen by the bride.
Dressing for second weddings
Many brides wonder if it's appropriate to wear white for a second wedding. They may want to know if it's okay to choose elaborate gowns for their bridesmaids.
Getting in shape
Since you'll be the focus of attention, it's natural for a bride and groom to want to look good at their wedding festivities. Many people like to get a head start with a special fitness program.
Gown sizes
Most sample gowns in bridal stores are a medium-to-large size, so everyone can try them on. Unless buying off the rack, you'll need to order the gown in your size; then, slight alterations can be made, for a custom fit.
Men's traditional attire
The tuxedo is the traditional wedding attire for men; in one form or another, it's been worn since at least the late 1800's. Past tuxedos usually featured a long frock coat, or a cutaway jacket with tails.
Mother of the bride/groom
The dress of a bride or groom's mother will usually depend on the time of day during which the wedding is scheduled. Traditionally, mothers often wear colors that complement the bridesmaids and each other.
Preparing your face and nails
Not only will a facial and manicure help you look your best, many people find it relaxing to enjoy a little pampering, before their big day. You can have these procedures done professionally, or enlist the help of a friend, and save money.
Preserving your wedding gown
Over time, any fabric will deteriorate unless carefully stored; this is especially true of the delicate fabrics often used in wedding gowns. One option is to have your gown professionally preserved.
Special wedding hairstyles
In keeping with their special day, many brides want a hairstyle that's somewhat fancier than usual. Hair that's worn up, or decorated with silk flowers, pearls or other trim is a popular choice.
Traditional white wedding gowns
Even within the category of traditional white gowns, you'll still have plenty of choices. For one thing, there are many shades of white....ranging from stark white, to an antique cream.
Tuxedos and formal wear
The type of wedding you choose will determine the style of tuxedo that the groom should wear. There are many choices to be made when deciding on a tuxedo.
Women's traditional attire
For women, the traditional wedding attire is a floor-length white or off-white dress, often in a ball gown style. For semi-formal daytime ceremonies, the dress may be ballerina length, which is just a few inches off the floor.
Your wedding gown
When choosing a wedding gown, it is important to remember that the bride's clothing will determine how everyone else will dress. The wedding gown and veil will reflect how formal or casual the ceremony will be.
