Golf Equipment

Accessory options
Once you have clubs, balls, tees, and a bag to carry them, there's an incredible array of accessories available for dedicated golfers. Many golfers prefer to keep their choice of accessories simple, while others get every new gadget that comes along.
Golf attire
Golf isn't a terribly formal game, but many places do have dress codes. Some courses prohibit shorts, tee shirts or tank tops. Others may specify slacks, shirts with sleeves, or ladies' skirts.
Golf shoes
Eighteen holes of golf involves quite a bit of walking, and comfort should be the first thing you look for in a pair of shoes. They should be snug, but have plenty of room for your toes to move.
Purchasing putters
On a par-four hole, half your shots are expected to be putts. Considering the importance of putting (PUTT-ing), it's not surprising that some golfers have gone to extraordinary lengths to get the perfect putter.
Used golf clubs
The process of learning to play good golf can be extremely frustrating, which may explain why there are so many sets of used clubs available. If you're just starting out in the game, an inexpensive set of used clubs can be found to use while you learn how to play.
What about wedges?
Most golfers carry at least two wedges, and many like to have others on hand for special situations. The sand wedge is essential for getting out of bunkers.
What irons do I need?
After your initial drive, your distance from the pin determines which iron you'll need for subsequent shots. The idea is to have an assortment of irons that will carry the ball just the right distance when you hit it full force.
When you need woods
When you need power to send the ball sailing down the fairway, woods are the tool of choice. Their long shafts and heavy heads develop a lot of force on the downswing.
