Mayor

Mayor and Mayoress of Medway, Cllr David Brake and Mrs Carmita BrakeFor 2010/11, the Mayor of Medway is Cllr David Brake. His wife, Mrs Carmita Brake, is his official Mayoress.

Cllr Brake officially took up his duties as Mayor of Medway for 2010/11 on 19 May 2010, when he was elected at the council’s Annual Meeting.

Representing Walderslade, Cllr. David Brake spent his working life with Delphi Diesel Systems before taking early retirement after 44 years' service. As International Operations Manager, he was responsible for transferring technology around the world.

An active Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Rochester, Cllr. Brake also spent many years working as a volunteer adult leader with the scouts and held various appointments, including that of District Commissioner for Strood Scouts.

The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress are Cllr Vaughan Hewett and his wife, Mrs Jenifer Hewett.
