Welcome to Stockholm for a professional study visit

The European Green Capital 2010 Study Visits are designed to answer your questions about the environmental work undertaken in all departments, companies and districts of the City of Stockholm. We want to show you the solutions we have come up with in relation to city renewal, the planning of new urban projects, ensuring a transportation system for our citizens which is both effective and sustainable, and the advantages that can arise from a well-connected society from both a democratic and an environmental viewpoint. We will also give you the possibility to learn more about our work on sustainable development within social affairs, education, culture and creativity. You will find all the themes for our study visits on this website.

Each year Stockholm welcomes a large number of visitors from all over the world and this particular year we expect the number of visitors to soar even higher as Stockholm is the first European Green Capital 2010.

We welcome visitors and colleagues with a professional interest in and knowledge about the specific themes. The professional study visits are free of charge. It will not be possible for us to arrange any general study visits during 2010.

As the first European Green Capital we will mainly prioritise visits from other European cities, as well as some organisations or research centres. The aim of the study visit programme is to strengthen the network with other cities and increase the possibilities of sharing experience and learning from one another.

Practical conditions

We require your preliminary booking (please use the form below to indicate the aim of your study visit, your choice from our list of themes and information about the visitors) 2 months ahead of your visit. We will do our best to arrange your visit according to your priorities but we cannot guarantee that all visits are available during your stay. All our visits will include an introduction by specialists from the City of Stockholm.

Please note that the City of Stockholm does not provide any hotel bookings, transport, interpretation (all presentations will be held in English for our international guests) or other practical arrangements.

If the group has any specific questions in connection with the visit please forward these to us in advance so that we can give them to the lecturer or the person in charge of the study visit.

For questions, please e-mail professionalstudyvisits@stockholm.se

We look forward to welcoming you to Stockholm!
