  • IF HEATH DIDN;T DIE OF A DRUG O.D. WOULD EVERY ONE STILL BE TALKING ABOUT THIS DRUG ADDICTED ACTOR LIKE HE WAS THE SECOND COMING?
HE DID DO 1 OF THE BEST CREATIVE WORK IN THE DARK KNIGHT ,PAR NONE.I THINK HE LOCKED HIMSELF IN THE HOTEL ROOM EITHER TRYING TO DETOX OR STUDY THE CHARACTOR HIGH OF SUBSTANCES. LETS FACE IT, ALOT OF PEOPLE IN THE INDUSTRY DO THEIR BEST WORK WHEN USING.BUT TO GIVE HIM AN OSCAR? I DON;T SEE IT HAPPENING WITH THE STUFFY SHIRTS WHO DO THE VOTING.HIS JOKER WAS THE BEST EVER WRITTEN OR PLAYED,BUT THAT'S BECAUSE HE WENT OUTSIDE THE BOX. HUGH JACKMAN WHO HAS A # OF GREAT ACTOR PARTS THROUGH OUT HIS CAREER AND HE PLAYED WOLVERINE BETTER THAN ANYONE COULD EVER IMAGINE. I LOVE BOTH CHARACTORS ,BUT JACKMAN HAS SO MUCH MORE TO OFFER & HAS ALREADY GIVEN US.
I KNOW ALOT OF YOU WON'T AGREE WITH ME,BUT WINNING AN OSCAR IS LIKE WINNING THE POPULAR VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT, BUT HAVING THE ELECTORIAL COLLEDGE MAKE THE LOSER A WINNER.HEATH WILL WIN LOTS OF AWARDS FOR WHEN HIS FANS VOTE & HIS FELLOW ACTORS VOTE ON WHO DID THE BEST PERFORMENCE THIS YEAR.GODSPEED & R.I.P. HEATH,WE WILL MISS YOU FOR ALL YOU COULD HAVE GIVEN US.BUT KNOW YOUR BABY DAUGHTER WON'T EVEN HAVE A DADY TO GROW UP WITH.PRIORITIES MY FELLOW MOVIE GOERS,THAT IS THE CHOICE ONE MAKES TO STAY RELATENT. SINCERLY DA FAT MAN

  • I know Mel has turned out to be a drunk and potentially a very bigoted bugger --- so I didn't vote for the man but his work on the screen. He was a favorite as the Road Warrior and in the classic Lethal Weapon series - so I'm not saying I like him - but I did like his characters. Russell Crowe was a close second for me - again in real life I think he's probably a major jerk - but as the Gladiator and in LA Confidential and many others - he was awesome.

  • Hugh Jackman all the way. He has everything: he is gorgeous and super sexy, multi-talented (acting-singing-dansing) and low-profile. Plus, he is a family man. Is there anything else you could ask for?

  • I think Mel Gibson, is a very talented man, and a very misunderstood one at that. He was extreemly brave, to make the passion of the christ, and he did that, because he is a believer. Everything he does is commented on, he cope`s so well with the media, and lack of privacy. I think the best thing anyone can do is to pray for him, i do.

  • Actually, Brad Pitt and Justin Timberlake are related to each other--and also to President Obama. How about that!

  • Heath Ledger is admired because he died - that's really not a reason to admire someone unlesss they died for a cause or a reason. Abusing drugs is not a reason - it's stupid and a person who does it gets what they deserve. That's why I'm surprised that 28 percent of those polled here chose him over Mel, Russell, Keith or Hugh.
As for me, MEL is my main man. I remember seeing him for the first time in "The Year of Living Dangerously," in 1983. Later, he became People Magazine's first SEXIEST MAN ALIVE (and he, along with Prince William, still is). He not only gave some marvelous performances such as he aforementioned "Year" and "Braveheart," he also directed some marvelous movies such as "Braveheart," "The Passion of the Christ" and "Apocolypto."
But it's not just his magnificent face or his equally magnificent movies that make Mel my main man. It's the fact that, for the most part, he practices the traditionalist Roman Catholicism he professes to believe. He has a chapel in his home and he hears Mass as often as he can.
Now Mel has his demons - he loves drinking and he may or may not have been 100 percent faithful ( I tend to think he has been but I could be wrong. At least he has never abused his wife). And I know a group of you will shout about the anti-Semitic remarks he made a few years ago while under the influence. The man apologized abjectly and profusely and anyone who knows him says he really is NOT an anti-Semite. What got him into trouble wasn't so much the remark, although it was reprehnsible. It'sthe fact he is a conservative, both politically and religiously. No one in Hollywood would back "The Passion of the Christ" so he made it using his own money. And in order to get it into Oscar contention, it had to be entered as a foreign language film (having been spoken in Latin and Aramaic, it made sense). And it turned out to be the biggest money-maker of any foreign language movie ever made. It didn't win the Oscar for anything "important" but it got three stars out of four in most reviews.
His movie "Apocolypto" is also incredibly good. It's violent, yes. It's also in an ancient Mayan language. But it's totally engrossing and I was mesmerized by it. It, like "The Passion of the Christ and "Braveheart," shows Mel Gibson's brilliance as a director. Mel definitely is more than skin-deep beauty.
Mel is aging - no doubt about it. But he's still beautiful in my mind's eye and he is eye candy forever.

  • I kid around about being available for Mel but in all seriousness, I'm sorry he and Robin are getting a divorce. I know he and she really loved each other and they had a large family together. I also know they are devout Catholics but sadly, in this case, not even the church nor their faith could get them through this bad time in their marriage. I hope once Mel expunges his demons - drinking and womanizing - he and Robin will get back together. She's the only woman for him and he's the only man for her.
Mel's had a bad time over the last 3 years; let's hope and pray things will improve for him and that their family can remain friendly if not together. Divorce is always a sad, sad thing.
