Why angry? Did you apply to the schools psd suggested? I find the angriest people have a tt or bust mentality (never mind their kid's scores or anything else) and won't apply to schools they consider "beneath" them.
[ Reply | Options ]So what about your public school choices? Did dc make the Hunter cutoff? Take the OLSATs? Are you in a catchment for a great-to-good gen ed school?
[ Reply | Options ]If you are SO but on some waitlists you are likely to get some great options. OTOH very few people seem to get how bad the economy will be by September even, depending on your family's financial situation, it might be a blessing in disguise to be SO. I think some of the less wealthy schools (privates) will have serious problems this year. My family is associated with one and so many families of kids in grades 2-4 (families I know) are wondering how they will pay. The school has very small endowment so it won't be saved by that. You are certainly better off in public than in a private without a decent endowment to cushion them in the coming few years. GL and a big hug to your dc.
[ Reply | Options ]With your erb I would check out Speyer school. That was my plan B. 99 ERB, got only one accept.
[ Reply | Options ]Oh argh. We were SO too. DC got 99s(x3), we did not ask for FA, we are just average folks, not PITA. Feel psd did not support us along the way, and now we are looking at publics, but (double ugh)live in 151 zone, where there is NO school. Hopeful G&T scores will be OK. Anyone know how to deal with prioritizing G&T schools - where to get form? when due? Humbug. Plan on torching bag of private school materials and having weenie roast.
