Since its first partnership with the Australian Open in 2002, Kia Motors is once again thrilled to come back to the Australian Open as the Major Sponsor in 2009. After recently extending our agreement with Tennis Australia, Kia Motors has reaffirmed its commitment to the Australian Open Championship for the next five years and is expected to play a key role to promote and support the players as they strut the “world’s biggest stage”.

Innovative and interactive programs for fans around Melbourne Park have been a rewarding experience for Kia Motors. Kia has been activating a number of programs (Kia Amateur Australian Open and Kia Fan of the Day) to bring fans together and provide an unforgettable experience during the tournament. In addition to providing courtesy vehicles, Kia Motors also displays its newest line up around the tennis courts and live sites to exhibit and promote our cutting edge technology and state-of-the-art styling to international audiences.

After extending the period and scope of our core sponsorship agreements with the Australian Open, Kia has teamed up with more invigorating sports for the young-at-heart to further drive home the company’s new ‘exciting and enabling’ brand identity. The Kia X-Games Asia, NBA and sponsoring the world’s most prominent tennis players including world No.1 Rafael Nadal are some examples.

Kia Motors also took its ambitious step on the road to prominence on the world’s most played sports. As one of the EUROTOP Partners of UEFA (Union of European Football Association), Kia Motors played an integral part to successfully stage Europe’s best football tournament in Austria and Switzerland this summer. Kia will continue to play the same role in other UEFA competitions. Kia signed on with the world’s football governing organisation, FIFA (Federation Internationale de Football Association), to participate as the official automotive FIFA Partners, that includes rights to the 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups™ and all other FIFA competitions.
