A WORLD OF ENTERTAINMENT

The Australian Open is the world’s biggest stage for tennis every January. In 2009, your festival experience will be complete with a sensational daily line-up of live entertainment presented on stages at Melbourne Park.

Many events are free and available to everyone who holds a Series Package, Single Session Ticket or Ground Pass. Tickets for other premium shows and concerts can be purchased as an add-on to your tennis ticket.

Direct from New York , where it has entertained thousands of Manhattan party-goers over the last three summers, Spiegelworld is coming to Australian Open 2009. Appearing for the first time in Australia, this ultra-cool carnival village will take over The Oval outside Rod Laver Arena, providing the Australian Open with an exciting festival hot-spot. At the heart of Spiegelworld is a beautiful, historic European Spiegeltent.

With its opulent décor of mirrors, wooden panelling and velvet, this fully air-conditioned, intimate 300-seat venue will host a brilliant program of entertainment including the daring circus-meets-burlesque variety show, Absinthe, Open Late Concerts and Tennis Family Circus.

From dusk, the party continues with DJ sessions from Grant Smillie, Dirty Laundry, Andy Van and more at SpiegelBall, the outdoor dance floor at Spiegelworld. These events are free to everyone who holds a Series Package, Single Session Ticket or Ground Pass.
