  • Considering that there were SO many additional things that could have gone wrong, this outcome is fantastic, Kudos to the crew, passengers (for staying calm and following instructions) and, to all the rescuers. Job well done!

  • I was in the shower in Jersey City where I reside and I received a text from a friend saying a plane crashed into the Hudson River. Instantaneously I felt the emotions and sensations of a terrible morning we all here in the residing New Jersey / New York area felt when the planes hit our towers 7 vivid years ago. It was fear, shock, disbelief and an unbelivable and unexplainable shared closeness and worry to everyone in our area. I made two phone calls to my parents and a friend before getting out the shower alerting the news and to turn the news channel on. All in all to everyone's relief a tragedy had been averted and a miracle had took place. There was nothing simple and routine about the occurrence that took place in the Hudson River yesterday afternoon, from the Pilot to rescue personnel and the quick responses from neighboring city efforts, it was an absolute success and miracle. On TV the sight of a large passenger plane floating on our Hudson River seemed surreal but the sirens of emergency service units screaming and racing by my home made it feel very real! The immediate exposure to this incident of a plane in our area crashing was frightenly reminiscent of 911 and do not look forward to anything like this again. I am happy that all those lives were saved by the wits and professional experience of a veteran pilot who is nothing short of a bonafide hero! He literally turned a sure tragedy into an amazing impressive safe landing that saved the lives of so many and simultaneously ensured confidence in our air travel pilot professionals. The rescue responders are Heroes as well because there was nothing simple or customary about the weather conditions and site location of the emergency rescue operation...... it was truly a miracle on the Hudson! Our cities are composed of truly amazing caring people.

  • This story is truly remarkable, not only does it show signs of a miracle but the biggest blessing from the lord. He not only watched over these passengers, crew and staff but also guided the pilot and co-pilot to land that plane safely. This is the beautiful work of the lord showing us that we are always protected by him and his loving angels and that he is always there listening to our prayers!!!

  • Hello am a captain in the bahamas, i would like to say it was a great job what the crew did. For flyin a A320 there are two pilot, an they both have there fair amount of work. So its not fair to jus praised just one person . Praise the both of them because with out the co pilot the captain would have had a much greater task on his hand. So as a captain i would like to well done to the entire crew on the board the A320.

  • What a Great an Awesome God we have who promises he will never leave nor forsake us and that He's a very present help in time of trouble. I truly believe He's the one fully responsible for delivering the pilot and passengers from being a what could have been a horrible death. I cant help but think of how many times God was called upon during their time of turmoil...ex "Oh God...." and He being faithful listened and responded. Let the Glory be to God for he gives and takes away and this time all what given another chance :) There is no other name given by which we must be saved....Jesus!!!

  • Why can't you just let people be uplifted by the miracle of all the passengers surviving and the plane coming down safely without having to show footage of planes that crashed, passengers that did not make it in other instances...was it NOT newsworthy enough? Not enough sizzle? It is appauling that we cannot just be allowed to embrace GOOD NEWS.

  • This is truely a "Miracle"! I would bet to say that God has a plane full of believers today...
God put that hero on that plane yesterday. There are angels in this world and they just might be you. Maybe God is just tapping us on the shoulder to say,"Remember me?"

  • The comment that no american passenger airliner has ditched is incorrect. In October 1956, a Pan American Boeing Stratocruiser ditched half way between Honolulu and San Francisco. All passenges & crew survived.

  • It is a miracle. If it had been any later or earlier that the jet would have come down the results would have been a disaster. So the timing was also a miracle too. The pilot was a hero but I think there was definiately angels watching over these people too.
