Description: The Joyce-commissioned work gives insight to contemporary China by contrasting the modern metropolitan population represented by the dancers, with the traditional agrarian society represented by the folk musicians from the Grasslands of Inner Mongolia. In this work, Jin Xing uses movement and sound to explore the communication barriers between these diametrically opposed representatives of today's China.
