Offseason Rumors: Who is getting traded and where are the free agents going?
What's The Latest:
The Twins have expressed interest in Japanese pitchers Kenshin Kawakami and Koji Uehara. The authors suggest Kawakami could allow the Twins to trade a starter, while Uehara may enter the Majors as a reliever. Teams such as the Orioles, Cardinals, Braves, Red Sox, Mets, and Giants have also been linked to him.
The Braves were focused on Rafael Furcal; they're not looking to add a different infielder as a backup plan. They still want another starting pitcher.
The New York Post is "hearing from multiple sources that the Yankees will have nothing to do with Ben Sheets" given his health concerns. They don't want another health risk in the rotation after signing A.J. Burnett. Aside from cautious interest from the Rangers, it's been quiet on the Sheets front.

CC will be a New Yorker?
Remember the house in California? CC Sabathia loved Southern Cal so much he was building a house there. Now we find out that Sabathia went house-hunting this week ... in New Jersey. Not only did he decide to take the Yankees' millions, but he also decided to become a full-fledged New Yorker -- or a least a Jerseyite. Full Story

The Brewers have a really good farm system, even if it is a bit short on major league ready starting pitching. As good as their Double-A stars were, Eric Mack says they have a new wave making names for themselves in low Class A, too.

The deadline for non-tendered players to sign came and went. A lot of those players are bottom-of-the-barrel type athletes, but this "GM" says there are some diamonds in the rough. See the breakdown of some notable non-tendered free agents.
This "GM" thinks that adding Mark Teixeira to the Red Sox lineup may not be worth shipping off Mike Lowell, the 2007 World Series MVP. As GM, this featured community writer questions if a deal like this would affect how the organization will be remembered for years to come. Read More

Predictions |
Where will Manny Ramirez land?
Rosen: Dodgers. He already turned down the two-year offer, but once he realizes he won't get more elsewhere Manny will stay in LA where he was happy.... and productive.
Kay: Dodgers. There the only place that has the combination of money and temperament to satisfy this guy (once he realizes he's not getting more than four years).
Cimilluca: Trying to see what goes on inside his head is a mission not for the faint of heart. I think my heart hurts!
Brakinball I think LA will offer Manny enough to stay there. Manny won't be loyal to anyone, but LA being in such a large market can compete for Manny's services in their currenty position elsewhere on the team. They've got to sign someone else though too.
