Media Operations

The Media Operations Department of BOCOG was established in April, 2004. The Media Operations team will provide the best possible working conditions for members of the accredited written and photographic press and Non-rights-holding Broadcasters (ENR) as well as coordination of broadcasting services for Rights-holding Broadcasters and Host Broadcaster-Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd (BOB). The mission of Media Operations is to allow the Media to cover the Games to the best of their abilities and to ensure the fullest coverage by the different media and the widest possible audience for the Olympic Games.

Service guide made available to foreign media by BOCOG
To facilitate foreign media organizations and foreign journalists to report on the Beijing Olympic Games, Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) has compiled and officially published today the "Service Guide for Foreign Media Coverage of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Preparatory Period".

Main Press Centre (MPC)

The Main Press Centre (MPC) for the Beijing Olympic Games is the central work place for expected 5,600 accredited written and photographic press covering the 2008 Olympic Games, and will also be the MPC for the following Paralympic Games.

Venue Media Centres (VMCs)

VMCs will be available at all competition venues and non-competition venues like the Olympic Village, Media Villages and the IOC hotel. The mission of VMCs is to provide the best possible conditions under which accredited journalists and photographers can successfully carry out their work during the Games.

Olympic News Service(ONS)

The Olympic News Service (ONS) provides comprehensive information about the Beijing 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games, to help members of the accredited media in their mission to cover the Games and to facilitate members of the Olympic Family.

Photo Service

Best possible working conditions will be provided for around 1,100 accredited photographers expected to cover the Beijing Olympic Games.

Media Services

Media Services is looking after such vital services as Accommodation, Accreditation, Transport, Rate Card, Catering provided by various BOCOG functional areas. Serving as a liaison point between media individuals or organizations and BOCOG service providers, Media Services provides direct advice and help for the functional areas to ensure that media needs are understood and met.

Broadcasting Coordination

Broadcasting Coordination serves as the contact point among BOCOG, Chinese governmental departments, Beijing Olympic Broadcasting Co., Ltd (BOB), Rights-Holding Broadcasters and other relevant parties. The aim of Broadcasting Coordination is to coordinate with parties concerned to provide the Olympic-level standard facilities and services to BOB and Rights-Holding Broadcasters to guarantee a successful broadcasting of the Beijing Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
