SAN DIEGO -- It appears that Metro Schools Director Pedro Garcia is staying in Nashville for the mean time.On Wednesday night, San Diego's school system did not name Garcia as their interim director.Garcia, who taught in San Diego in the 1970s, was considered a contender to lead the 135,000-student district in California.It's not clear whether he remains a candidate for the job.
Garcia's contract with Nashville runs through 2010, but the school board can vote to terminate it.
