Great magekiller. But I think its gonna be more like 30g to make.
- 10g? 30g? No way!!!
On my server, Essence of Fire and Blue Sapphire go for around 10g, add up all the other ingredients, and you're easily looking at 60-90g cost of materials. Not sure anyone will pay that much to buy!
where can you learn to make this?

When i put the note there the shadow deflector wasnt on the site yet, so...

- Are the other trinkets use shared timers so you can't chain cast them?
ie.
If I you the frost one, will the fire and shadow ones have cool down timers?- I wouldn't think so. They're different items.
I can make this!!!
I used it again mage, and frost nova didn't bounce back to her...so I ono if I just did something wrong or what..anyone else tried?

This doesn't work with AOE spells (so no frost nova, blizzards, etc). This only reflects directed spells. IMO for PVP, the ice isn't as effective as the fire one, simply because frost mages seem to use more AOE than anything. Fire mages, from what i've seen, tend to use a lot of hard-hitting fireballs. Reflected 1k fireball crit = doomed mage.
a Frost mage was
getting ready to blast me when i put it on and he crited me for 1999 and he died instanly

- So this will NOT make you immune to Frost Nova?
Will using this break stealth?
This post is faded because it has a negative score.- And to answer questions...
This is how these work. Any spell that is a single target spell hitting you will bounce back to the caster. That means frostbolt, frost shock, Icy enchants, and hunter's freezing traps (for example).
Anything that is a frost AoE will not bounce back, but you will be immune. This means frost nova, Cone of Cold, Blizzard, etc. So if a mage frost novas while i have this active, I will be immune, but it won't root the mage. However, if he frostbolts me, it will bounce off of me, hit him, damage him, and snare him.
I've found that the fire reflectors is more useful for reflecting spells, because a lot of frost spells are instant, so you don't have time to activate the reflector. Fire on the other hand has fireball and pyroblast, both of which bounce back and own mages pretty hard.
Activating a reflector will break stealth. If you want to kill a mage, a pretty good tactic would be to Ambush, Activate Frost Reflector, and then continue your normal damage and/or stun routine. This way you are immune to the frost nova that mages always use when you ambush them, and you can pretty easily have the mage dead before frost nova cools down again.
Does this work on Frost Shock? If it does, it will be awesome. watching the shamans using their cheap frost shock to kite themselves without having cleanse. I'm sure hunters and druids will love using this. (You can easily expect a frost shock coming when you are low health trying to run away from them)
- I'm a rogue, and I use this in arathi basin. It owns.
1. Turn on Detect Traps
2. Find a flag that has a freezing trap laid on it.
3. Activate Ice reflector.
4. Step on the hunter trap. Don't disarm it.
5. Hunter is now frozen in his own ice trap.
I tested this. It works. Best trinket ever.

- I created this item last night after an hour or two of grinding the Essence of fires from Ungoro (BORING) :)
Least you can mine rich thorium there at the same time, and the fire boss at the top is kinda fun when you get bounced off the side of the cliff (ouch)
Anyway tried using this last night in PvP.... would wait for a hunter to frost trap, i'd activate trinket and jump on it... It would say the frost trap is reflected but the Hunter didn't get frozen.
Tried this twice (although it was 2am 0.o) wondering if they've patched against this or if I was just unlucky in the build of the hunter?
i dont care, im posting my comment about the shadow reflector on this. it rocks. was in WSG the other day, and i had the flag. the ally warlock is chasing me, and tries to use the affliction talent tree curse to slow me down, and instead slows down himself! wicked funny.
Now for the frost reflector comment. im a druid, and was in another WSG game with the flag. used frost reflector (i have 2 reflectors, frost and shadow). obviously, a NE hunter put ice trap right on the flag, and stil had about 6 ppl guarding. so i grab boots, nab the flag, get ice trap reflected and freezes the whole room. im outa range in no time with combo 2X speed and them all frozen. wicked funny. and guess what, happened two more times! i got hat trick, yay for me. i suggest having multiple reflector trinkets and a macro to switch 'em around when you're facing different classes (ice+fire for mages, shadow for priests and warlocks) HAVE FUN

well, a "macro" wont do anything. but you can do this...
make multiple types of these trinkets (fire ice shadow etc) and click and drag them to a slot on your toolbar. then by clicking on the new slot, you can equip it. this put a cooldown on all of your items;i dont know, havent checked yet. but it is a way to switch it without clicking and dragging during battle.

there is exelent addon for fast trinket switching - Trinket Menu
Just seein if anyone has read about Naxxramas. Supposedly Kel'Thuzard, the main boss and most of the rest of Naxxramas are ganna be shadow and frost. This might become more useful come the next patch.....
- i was duelin my lvl 60 epic mage friend ( im lvl 49 ) i wasnt be expetin me 2 beat him , i put up my shiled ( gnomish harm protection thingy ) he sheeps me, i get out quicly he done his trinket ( SP one ) now got a over 700SP starts his frostbolt, i put on the ice reflector and he got his own rank 11 frostbolt onto him , causin enough dmg 2 put him on2 15% i then use gnomish death ray and he was dead :) leavin me on 87% quite happy bout it tbh
The ice reflector shares it's cooldown with all other reflectors (fire and shadow). The cooldown is 5 mins and you can have 2 of the same reflectors equipped or mix it with another reflector (ie. 2 ice or 1 ice and 1 shadow etc). Don't try to use the reflectors at endgame PVE bosses because it won't reflect their casts and the only bonus you get from them there is the + resistance. The reflectors are GREAT for getting more resistance without gimping ur gear in PVE or ofcourse for their reflections in PVP.
i got problem with this thingie, i come to mage, ambush, turn on ice reflector, he casts frost nova and im frozen.... its some new bug or what... any suggestions?
Finally made one, diden't had to buy anything!
This is how I got the mats, maybe helpful.
-------
Blue Sapphire - fished from floating debris in Stonetalon Mountains or mined from Mithril and Thorium-veins (a Engineer should also be a Miner!).
-------
Icecap - got these from a friend that's an Herbalist (ok that's no helpful xD). Looks like swamp-Elemental-monsters drop a lot herbs! To see such a monster go http://wow.allakhazam.com/db/mob.html?wmob=14231
(this is a rare mob)
-------
Frost Oil - sent one of my friends mats (use Evergreen Pouch to get herbs, go http://thottbot.com/?q=1716 to see start quest getting this item) to make one and got another Frost Oil in that Morrowgrain-quest when handing in ten Morrowgrain to the guy in Darnassus.
-------
Essence of Fire - gathered in Un'Goro, Fire Plume Ridge. This took some time tho'. Also gathered some Thorium there.
-------
Truesilver Transformer - gathered the Elemental Earth and Elemental Air in Arathi Highlands, Truesilver-veins I find once and awhile being on adventure. It use to be some veins of different kind behind Stormgarde Keep (what is it called..?) in Arathi Highlands aswell, on the cliffs at the sea.
-------
Thorium Widget - I find Thorium now and then as with Truesilver (like in Winterspring or Un'Goro), Runecloth drops from a lot humanoids all over Azeroth, like satyrs in Felwood and Furbolgs in Winterspring.
Better to do this than use 50-100g getting mats!!

- Run strat scarlet twice (total time 3-4 hours with halfway competent people).
Sell 2 orbs you get for 80g.
Buy mats from AH. Spend remaining 20g on a rare item whilst you are there.
Done. And all safe in the knowledge you aren't a moron with no grasp of time economy.
This trinked (and the other refelctor) will become less usefull with the comming of TBC. the new tool tip now says that it might sputter on players that use it above lvl 60.
I also like to point out that they don't share cooldown! you can use the shadow/fire/ice reflector at the same tine (only two of them ofc)
I am wondering, becouse thottbot doesn't say these devices share cooldown with it own kind, so it just might be that you can built 2 of them and have 10 sec refelction time! i don't know this for sure but i looked at the jumpercables and they do share cooldown with its own... it just might be.... i am gonna try it out by building a 2nd ice refelctor. if they do share cooldown with it own kind than i can always sell them:D
still the frost resistance will be great

I am at a 53 level on my first character and a guildy gave me this item, cuz he's got 15 or so trinks trying to help me out. i am not engineer, that means i can't use the item? says my skill level not high enough?
if this is the case which i think it is, is the item hard to sell/impossible, cuz an engineer would just make it for themself.

"Chance to Fizzle against players above level 60."
Fizzle = don't work
SO, does that mean it won't work on mobs either? or just players?

When it fizzles, you just resist the reflector buff and nothing happens, so it is dependant on your level, not the enemy's. I've had the frost reflector long before TBC and I've never once seen it fail, but I just made a shadow reflector recently and its already failed 5 times out of the 10 or so times I've used it. Gnomish mind control cap hasn't been working too well either lately...
