Chiropractic: A Rapidly Growing Profession.

As evidence supporting the effectiveness of chiropractic continues to emerge, health care consumers are turning in record numbers to chiropractic care — a form of health care aimed primarily at enhancing a patient's overall health and well-being without the use of drugs or surgery. More than 30 million people visited doctors of chiropractic last year for a variety of conditions, and more and more medical doctors are referring their patients to doctors of chiropractic.

Current Issues Quick Resources
Backpacks
Back pain is pervasive among American adults, but a new and disturbing trend is emerging. Young children are suffering from back pain much earlier than previous generations, and the use of overweight backpacks is a contributing factor.

Steroid Use in Youth: Prevention and Detection
The use of anabolic steroids is a hot sports issue, especially for young athletes who feel that they won’t have a competitive edge without steroids or other performance enhancers. To help combat this growing problem, ACA offers several tips to help parents and coaches start a conversation with young athletes about the dangers of steriod use.

Skin Cancer
Each year, about a million Americans learn that they have skin cancer — the most common type of cancer in the United States. Although the risk is greatest for people who have fair skin that freckles easily, everyone can develop skin cancer.
