Description of this SeriesDescription of this Series
  • How to use the Records
Particular items of correspondence on these microfilm may be identified from VPRS 3 Inward Correspondence Register and the number (for example, 1836/10) of that correspondence noted.

From the Consignment Details for this series, the researcher may find the annual single number of the correspondence they wish to see, and then locate the item of correspondence on the film. The correspondence was arranged in annual single number order which would correlate with the order in which it was received by the Police Magistrate's office.

  • Function / Content
This film is a copy of the hard-copy correspondence in VPRS 4 Inward Registered Correspondence.

The documents filmed were inward correspondence as registered on date of receipt by Captain Lonsdale.

  • Recordkeeping System
The microfilm is boxed and the boxes are arranged in single-number order.

The (hard-copy) correspondence was arranged in registration number order and was filmed in that order. The correspondence was registered in annual single number order.
