A BBC Sport presenter has been promoting a bookmaker on social media without declaring that she has a commercial relationship with the company, and continued to do so after being told that she was breaking advertising rules.

Sam Quek, 31, the Olympic hockey gold medallist who co-hosts 606, Radio 5 Live’s football phone-in, is a paid “ambassador” for Footie5, a weekly prediction game that allows people to bet on matches. Last year she began posting about the game to her 175,000 followers on Twitter without disclosing her relationship with the company.

In the months before Christmas, Quek, who appeared as a contestant on the ITV reality show I’m a Celebrity . . . Get Me Out of Here! in 2016, tweeted multiple times about
