Australian Association of Developmental Disability Medicine
The Australian Association of Developmental Disability Medicine is an organisation of Australian medical practitioners dedicated to improving the health, including the mental health, of people, of all ages, with developmental disabilities.

Australian Association of Social Workers
The AASW is the professional representative body of social workers in Australia. It is committed to the pursuit of social justice, to the enhancement of the quality of life, and the development of the full potential of each individual.

Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
The Australian College of Mental Health Nurses is the peak professional body for mental health nurses in Australia. It is the only organisation that solely represents mental health nurses. The college engages with its members and key stakeholders to advance mental health nursing across the country.

Australian Counselling Association
The ACA is a national progressive professional peak association of counsellors and psychotherapists.  The ACA is primarily concerned with industry standards, creating employment for counsellors, health fund rebates and formal recognition of counsellors.

Australian Infant, Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Association
AICAFMHA’s aim is to actively promote the mental health and well being of infants, children, adolescents and their families and/or carers in Australia.

Australian Medical Association
The Australian Medical Association (AMA) is an independent organisation which represents doctors. The AMA, as the peak health advocacy organisation, exists to advance the professional interests of doctors and the health of the community.

Australian Psychological Society
The Australian Psychological Society (APS) is the largest professional association for psychologists in Australia.  The APS is committed to advancing psychology as a discipline and profession.

Australian Rotary Health
The ARHRF is a national service project.  In the area of Mental Health Awareness the ARHRF aims to promote greater understanding in the community through education, which will reduce stigma and improve the lives of Australians affected by mental illness.  It has pledged to invest in research for mental illness with the aim of funding research that will result in better treatment and services.

Catholic Social Services Australia is the Catholic Church’s peak national body for social services in Australia. Our 69 member organisations provide social services to over a million Australians a year, delivering services in local communities in metropolitan, regional and remote Australia

Dietitians Association of Australia
The Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) is the largest profession nutrition organisation in Australia representing more that 3400 members.  The mission of the DAA is supporting members and advocating for better food, better health, better living for all.  Dietitians are employed in a wide variety of work areas including clinical dietitians, community nutrition, education, private sector, government, research and industry.

GROW Australia
GROW is a national organisation that provides a peer supported program for growth and personal development to people with a mental illness and those people experiencing difficulty in coping with life’s challenges. At GROW people work together to take back control of their lives, over come obstacles and start living a life full of meaning, hope and optimism.

headspace provides mental and health wellbeing support, information and services to young people and their families across Australia.

Lifeline Australia
Lifeline Australia provides a phone counselling services for anyone , at anytime and from anywhere in Australia.   Lifeline Australia believes every person has the right to be heard and understood with compassion and to receive competent care in time of need.

Mental Health Carers ARAFMI Australia
The Mental Health Carers Arafmi Australia’s mission is to represent at national level the interests of ARAFMI groups throughout Australia and the needs and concerns of their constituency – families and others voluntarily caring for people with mental illness.

Mental Health Coalition of South Australia
The Mental Health Coalition is the peak body promoting the interests of South Australian non-government organisations supporting people with a psychiatric disability. The MHCSA aims to counter prejudice against people with mental illness; advocate for appropriate psychiatric disability support services; and to enhance the quality of NGO psychiatric disability support services.

Mental Health Community Coalition of the ACT
The Mental Heath Community Coalition ACT is the peak body representing the not for profit Community Mental Health sector in the Australian Capital Territory. Founded in 2004 the organisation promotes a diverse range of community agencies and local consumer and carer groups that support people recovering from a mental illness in the community.   MHCC ACT works inclusively with all stakeholders to support the development of new community based services and promotes the interests of consumers, carers and not for profit community organisations

Mental Health Coordinating Council
The Mental Health Coordinating Council is the peak body for non-government organisations working for mental health throughout New South Wales.   As the peak body for NSW, MHCC aims to provide leadership and an independent pubic voice on mental health issues.

Mental Health Council of Tasmania
The Mental Health Council of Tasmania is the peak body representing the interests of non-government mental health consumer organisations, carer organisations and service provider organisations.  The MHCT provide a public voice for people affected by mental illness and the organisations in the community sector that work with them.  The MHCT advocate for effective public policy on mental health for the benefit of the Tasmanian community as a whole.

Mental Health First Aid Australia
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) Australia is a national not-for-profit health promotion charity focused on mental health training and research. MHFA courses teach mental health first aid strategies to members of the public. Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, or in a mental health-related crisis, until appropriate professional treatment is received or the crisis resolves.

Mental Health Professionals Network
The Mental Health Professionals Network establishes and supports interdisciplinary mental health networks across Australia.These locally driven networks aim to improve consumer outcomes by promoting collaborative practice and peer support amongst clinicians and service providers who are providing treatment to people with mental health issues.

Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia
The Mental Illness Fellowship of Australia is a not-for-profit, grassroots, self-help, support and advocacy organisation of people affected by serious mental illnesses.  MIFA has nine member Fellowships in all states and territories.  Member organisations deliver programs and services such as accommodation, rehabilitation, peer education to carers and consumers, employment, education and training, activity centres, research, telephone helplines, advocacy and media campaigns, government lobbying and police training.

Mind Australia is a leading provider of community mental health services. We support our clients to live independent, productive and purposeful lives.

National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation
The National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation is the national peak Aboriginal health body representing Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services throughout Australia.  An Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS) is a primary health care service initiated and operated by the local Aboriginal community to deliver holistic, comprehensive, and culturally appropriate health care to the community which controls it. 

National Council on Intellectual Disability
The National Council on Intellectual Disability is a peak  body representing the rights and interests of people with intellectual disability.  The Council takes on such activities as providing policy advice, systemic advocacy, community education, and information provision and dissemination.

National LGBTI Health Alliance
The National LGBTI Health Alliance is the peak health body for organisations that provide health-related programs, services and research targeting lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and other sexuality, sex and gender diverse people.

National Rural Health Alliance
The National Rural Health Alliance is the peak body working to improve the health of Australians in rural and remote areas.  It is comprised of 23 Member Bodies, representing both health consumers and service providers in non-metropolitan areas.

NEAMI National
Neami National is a community mental health service supporting people living with mental illness to improve their health, live independently and pursue a life based on their own strengths, values and goals.

Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition
The Northern Territory Mental Health Coalition is the peak body for Non-Government Organisations in the Northern Territory who provide services to mental health consumers and their families. Its members are organisations and its main role is to promote mental health through representing the interests of members and work towards ensuring that Consumers and Carers are provided with quality mental health services.

Occupational Therapy Australia
Occupational Therapy Australia is the peak professional body representing the interests of Occupational Therapists across the country.  Occupational Therapy Australia strives to ensure that members consistently receive quality, responsive services that add significant value to their careers. It promotes the science and art of Occupational Therapy, its development, use and quality practice in Australia, and its on-going value to consumers and society.

ORYGEN Research Centre
ORYGEN Research Centre is a comprehensive youth mental health research centre, affiliated with the University of Melbourne, Melbourne Health and the Colonial Foundation. ORC has strong ties to researchers around Australia and overseas. The range of research projects conducted focuses on the mental disorders that impact on young people. ORC research, particularly on the early phases of psychotic illness, is recognised internationally and has influenced the delivery of services in many countries.

Ostara Australia

PANDA - Post and Antenatal Depression Association
PANDA’s National Perinatal Depression Helpline, funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments, provides vital support, information, referral and counselling to thousands of Australian parents and their families.


Private Mental Health Consumer and Carer Network
The Private Mental Health Consumer Carer Network (Australia), or the Network is dedicated to effective consumer and carer participation as the driving force in all elements of change in private sector mental health services. The Network was formed in 2002 to promote the interests of members of the community requiring private mental health services.

Psychiatric Disabilty Services of Victoria (VICSERV)
VICSERV is the peak body for Psychiatric Disability Rehabilitation Services in Victoria.   VICSERV provides support to consumers and carers through programs such as home-based outreach, psychosocial rehabilitation day programs, mutual support and self-help, respite and advocacy.

Psychosis Australia Trust
The mission of the Psychosis Australia Trust is to support organisational, investment, and policy capacity to carry out priority-driven research into schizophrenia and bi-polar disorders – with the aim of helping all those affected by mental illness to live better lives now.

Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia
The Psychotherapy & Counselling Federation of Australia, Inc. is an “umbrella” association comprising affiliated professional associations that represent various modalities within the disciplines of Psychotherapy and Counselling in the Australian community.

Queensland Alliance for Mental Health 
The Queensland Alliance for Mental Health is a state-wide peak body of consumer, carer and non-government service provider organisations and groups which serve the needs of people affected by mental illness and psychiatric disability.

Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research
The Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research conducts mental health research programs in genetics, developmental neurobiology, epidemiology and policy and economics.

ReachOut Australia
ReachOut Australia is a national non-profit organisation formed in 1996 in response to Australia’s then escalating rates of youth suicide. ReachOut’s mission is to create opportunities for young people to help themselves and help others.

Relationships Australia
For more than 60 years, Relationships Australia has provided a range of family support services, including counselling, dispute resolution, children’s services and relationship and professional education. Relationships Australia also provides a range of support services that directly or indirectly aim to improve outcomes for individuals, families and communities impacted by poor mental health.

Richmond Fellowship Australia
Richmond Fellowship Australia is a public company that confederates the independent state and territory Richmond Fellowships in Australia:  Richmond Fellowship Queensland, Richmond Fellowship Tasmania, Richmond Fellowship ACT and Richmond Fellowship Western Australia.  Key objectives of the confederation include contributing in educative and policy making forums that inform and enable mental health recovery.

SANE Australia
SANE Australia is an independent national charity helping people affected by mental illness through campaigning, education and research.  It runs Australia’s only FREE national mental illness Helpline and other programs.

Society for Mental Health Research
SMHR’s primary objectives are to promote research in psychiatry; disseminate information on psychiatric research carried out in Australasia; enable methodological help to be provided to those involved in psychiatric research; and facilitate the development of collaborative and inter-disciplinary research linkages.

Suicide Prevention Australia
Suicide Prevention Australia is a non-profit, non-government organisation working as a public health advocate in suicide prevention.  SPA is the only national umbrella body active in suicide prevention throughout Australia providing - community awareness and advocacy; information; and training and conferences.

The Butterfly Foundation
The Butterfly Foundation represents all people affected by eating disorders and negative body image – a person with the illness, their family and their friends. As a leading national voice in supporting their needs, Butterfly highlights the realities of seeking treatment for recovery, and advocates for improved services from both government and independent sources.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia
The Pharmacy Guild of Australia was established in 1928, bringing together several small retail pharmacy organisations then operating in various States. The Guild is registered under the Federal Workplace Relations Act 1996 as an employers’ organisation. Its members are owners of some 4,500 pharmacies throughout Australia.

The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
The RANZCP is a Fellowship of Psychiatrists working together with and for the general community to achieve the best attainable quality of psychiatric care and mental health.
