ACRISP (www.federation.edu.au/acrisp) has a domestic PhD scholarship available in sports injury epidemiology. The scholarship is being offered in partnership with Cricket Australia and JLT Sport to make significant new contributions to knowledge about injuries sustained by cricket players in non-elite forms of the game.

This PhD project has two main aims: 1) to provide an in-depth analysis of Australia-wide cricket injury insurance claims data to identify priorities and targets for preventive action by Cricket Australia; and 2) to undertake an in-depth review of the injury coding, classification and reporting processes inherent in the insurance claims database maintained by JLT Sport so as to provide guidance on future refinements to enhance its use for injury prevention, especially in cricket. This will involve methodological comparisons of the insurance claims system against sports injury surveillance systems worldwide, especially those used in cricket.
