Biography
M.A. Simon Fraser, PhD La Trobe

Professor Rammohan's research has focused on two central areas- (i) the analysis of intra-household distribution of health and education in developing countries, and its implications for the household’s children and the elderly, and (ii) the labour force participation decisions of Australian mothers subject to child care constraints. More recently her research has focused on food security and maternal and child health in developing countries, mainly focusing on India, Indonesia and Myanmar. Her research lies at the intersection of a number of disciplinary areas including health economics, international development, agricultural economics, and economic geography. This research has led to her success in competitive grants from the Australian Research Council and AusAID, and collaborative research with international organisations such as IFPRI (USA), ICASEPS (Indonesia) and TISS (India).
