JALD

"Since applied linguistics is concerned with language problems as experienced in the real world, it might appear that the two areas of enquiry in effect converge into one" (Widdowson, 2000).

Journal of Applied Linguistics-Dubai (JALD) aims to advance knowledge across arenas of inquiry related to the theory, research and practice of Applied Linguistics as a principled, umbrella discipline. The journal welcomes both reports of original research and conceptual articles. The journal stresses, emphasizes and accepts articles that can be theoretical, applied, experiential, case-based or policy-oriented in the discipline and sub-disciplines of Applied Linguistics.

There will be 6 issues of JALD a year, appearing Bimonthly in the months of February, April, June, August, October and December. JALD is published electronically on the Internet to allow it to reach a wider audience in the world, while keeping production costs to a minimum, making it possible to grant free access to the journal.
