Another Article about Plagiarism — That Contains Plagiarism

A torturous read.

Here is another example of an article in an open-access journal about plagiarism that itself contains plagiarism. The 2016 article, classified as a “short communication” in the predatory International Journal of Health Sciences and Research, has only two pages of text and is barely readable, except for the plagiarized parts.

A Russian-owned journal that claims to be based in Poland is as fake as a scholarly journal can get. The East European Science Journal has a completely made up editorial board, and most other aspects of it are fake also.

Another Respected Society Journal Victimized by Title Thief

The copycat journal’s unprofessional masthead, boasting fake impact factors.

I learned recently of a journal whose title exactly copies the title of a respected journal in the same field, the Journal of Natural Products. The counterfeit journal is based in India, while the original journal is published by a respected scholarly society.

I didn’t get much rest over the Christmas break, as tips regarding questionable new publishers and journals poured in  tips I am grateful for. Over the break I added five new publishers to the list.
