Abstract :  Sound advice from knowledgeable methodologists synthesized from the literature, has yielded herein a complete and readily useable set of guidelines for best - practice contemporary formative construct validation using partial least squares (PLS). Procedures are logically organized around indicator level and construct level validation. Indicator level validation is concerned that each indicator contributes to the formative construct by carrying the intended meaning. Tests advocated are in attention to: (i) pot ential multicollinearity, (ii) formative indicator weights, (iii) formative indicator loadings, and (iv) formative indicator criterion validity. These procedures are advocated at all formative levels of the focal construct, thus guidelines presented are su fficient whether validating formative constructs that are multidimensional (multiple levels) or unidimensional (single level). Construct level validation includes tests of: (i) nomological validity, and (ii) external validity. Assessing nomological validit y involves evaluating the extent to which the formative construct behaves as expected within its network of hypotheses. Testing the external validity of a formative model entails assessing the extent to which the formative indicators in combination capture the full domain of the construct. The prescriptions advocated are instantiated through reference to a recently completed study employing the full procedures described. The referent study conveniently included items whose statistical indications were mixed , inviting illuminating discussion around the basis on which key decisions are made. Guidance compiled herein and demonstrated through example, will be of value to both novice and more experienced researchers working with or considering formative phenomeno n. The combination of procedures outlined makes clear the necessary data and tests required in order to facilitate strong formative construct validity testing.

Abstract :  I n this study we are going to exhibit the common reasons behind the ERP failure, the study will use scan methodology for some research papers and some case studies that talk about the ERP failure, and choosing the most important reasons existed . The factors used in this paper are in the Cultural and the environmental areas. ERP is an IT - related project , because of that most of people think t hat the failure of the ERP project will be mostly from the IT Factors, on the contrary the Environmental an d the Cultural factors are the most critical factors that affect the failure or the success of the ERP project.

Abstract :  Cloud Computing has been one of the most important technologies that facilitates many services from the individual to the enterprise level, and the companies interest in using cloud services are increasing, While ERP systems are considered as one of the mo st used application to offer an integrated system and the best business practices in the market. This paper will aim to discuss the implementation issues of ERP systems in the cloud that organizations may face during the implementation process , especially small and medium ones, and a qualitative analysis has been conducted of many scientific paper to organizations who ha ve deployed a Cloud - Based ERP system as case studies . The data will be analyzed to list the common issues that most organizations share in the implementation process of such an innovation to increase the awareness of these issues as well as mitigating the concerns of adopting the solution .

Supporting the Learning of Computer Programming in Early Years Schooling

Publication Date : October 2015

SearchDL ID : 02.IJIS.2015.1.1

Abstract :  The deployment of technology across the globe toward efficient learning environments is growing rapidly. In the United Kingdom for example, the government is investing 1.1 million pounds towards primary and secondary school early programming lessons start ing from age five; with similar investments happening in other countries [1] . The ideology beh ind this push is to strengthen the link between the younger generation and the technology that will continue to have an ever increasing impact upon their lives and to fuel the pace of innovation. One of the core themes of this area is that of computer pro gramming, which has been overlooked at this level of education until recently. After discussing existing tutoring systems, this paper describes a high - level design for an assessment - driven computer programming tutoring system that uses a game - based learni ng approach as well the proposed experiment design to evaluate its effectiveness. Results from one of the preliminary experiments are put forward and used to show that such a tutoring sys tem can positively support the teaching and learning of computer pro gramming for children at the primary level.

THE EFFECT OF CULTURAL VALUES ON TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION IN THE ARAB COUNTRIES

Publication Date : October 2015

SearchDL ID : 02.IJIS.2015.1.3

Abstract :  The effect of culture on technology adoption was acknowledged in previous studies, specifically the effect of culture on technology adoption in developing countries such as the Arab countries. The Arab culture is a rich con - text culture. However, the majority of previous studies conducted in this field investigated the Arab culture as a whole which limits the understanding of the needs of individu al users. An analysis of the exist ing literature related to study ing the effect of the Arab culture on mobile phone adoption and usage was ca r ried out. The results of this research indicated that individuals’ differences must be taken into consideration wh en studying the e ffect of the Arab culture on mo bile adoption. Also, investigating Arabs cultural values influence should be car ried out by studying a subset of cultural values which relates to the case of mo bile phone adoption. Future research can be cond ucted using empirical field work to build on the findings emerged in this research.

Difficulties related to implement enterprise resource planning in Morocco Large companies’ case study

Publication Date : October 2015

SearchDL ID : 02.IJIS.2015.1.7

Abstract :  To increase their performance, many companies have chosen to adopt ERP solutions in their information system including Moroccan companies. This paper attempts to identify important issues affecting Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementation in Moroccan context. The results presented are based on a case study (action research) in two large Moroccan companies: the first in the industry field and the second operates in telecommunications field. This study concerns several kinds of projects: new implementation of an ERP, major extensions of an existing ERP or upgrade to a global new release. The problems dressed are spread over different phases of the implementation life cycle and discuss several aspects: scope, sponsoring, standard versus customizations, resistance to change / resisting forces, cultural aspects, operations and values system.
