Wim Hof Academy

We have an international team of certified instructors who give trainings in the Wim Hof Method. In order to teach the Method effectively and responsibly, each prospective instructor must complete our WHM Academy trajectory. This comprehensive tripartite program covers the ins and outs of the Method, and provides an in-depth understanding of the physiological mechanisms at play.

Coaching skills and teaching skills.

To become an instructor, it is important that you can convey a message clearly. Experience or competence in teaching and/or coaching skills is a requirement for becoming a certified instructor.

Certification
When the trajectory is successfully finished, you receive the official WHM certificate, with which you are certified to provide WHM services during the year. Automatically, you become the ‘face’ of the WHM. This certification needs to be renewed every year, by following a mandatory refreshment course in which all the techniques will be reviewed.

Module 1 - Basic

The course will kick off with the Basic Course (Module I). For those who come from afar we expect you to have completed the 10-week online video course. The 10-week online video course will be equivalent to the Dutch 2-day Basic Module. During these 10 weeks you will get acquainted with practicing the method. We also expect that you got familiar with the basic theory of the method (see our science page for the research that has been done). This knowledge will be tested on the beginning of the Advanced Module.

It is necessary to have completed the WHM 10-week video course in order to attend the weekend of the Advanced Module.

Module 2 - Advanced

The module consists out of two consecutive days of training between 9:30 a.m and 5:00 p.m. The Advanced module consist of a theoretical part and a practical part. In these two days, you will delve deeper into the theory, and practice the exercises (breathing exercises, mind-set, cold exposure and physical exercises). The training will be held by one of our certified instructors trained by Wim Hof. The modules will be held in Europe (Holland), US (West coast) and Australia (Melbourne). Exact location will be announced at least two months prior to the event.

Module 3 - Master

Before starting the Master Module, you have successfully completed the 10-week online video course and the Advanced Module. At this level, we expect people to have a good level of understanding about the theoretical side of the WHM. Also, we expect people to control the physical exercises of the WHM. You will be tested on your knowledge of the 3 components of the WHM and if you can convey the message clearly to your following students. In these days, you will also be challenged in your physical performance. The training will be mainly guided by one of our certified instructors. Wim Hof will be partly present.
