Takayuki Tsubaki Describes Injuries Sustained After Assault, Will Take Half a Year to Recover

34-year-old Kamen Rider Blade lead actor Takayuki Tsubaki posted an update on Monday regarding the injuries he sustained after suffering a recent assault. The actor reported he has fractures in his left cheekbone, upper jawbone, and nasal bone, as well as a bruises on the left side of his face, and bleeding in the conjunctiva of his left eye. He said that it will take half a year to fully recover from the injuries.

He remarked he is left speechless every time he looks at his face, saying that the amount of swelling makes him look like a different person. He thanked his fans for their support. He also noted he has talked with the police, saying that while there are some discrepancies with some media reports on the incident, he cannot discuss them due to various circumstances.

The actor was purportedly beaten in the face with a golf club at the end of a traffic dispute in Tokyo's Nakano Ward on the evening of November 8. Tsubaki had supposedly stepped from the sidewalk onto the roadway after 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Nakano's Chuo area, and he engaged in an argument with a passing motorcyclist. Fuji News Network reported that Tsubaki was struck in the face with a golf club by the motorcyclist's younger brother who came to the scene.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested the alleged assailant on the charge of inflicting bodily injury, and is now investigating the details of the incident.

Tsubaki was born in 1982 in Chiba Prefecture, and he made his acting debut in the 2001 film Go. In addition to Kamen Rider Blade, he has acted in films, television series, and stage plays.
