November 2016 - South Park: The Fractured But Whole

Matt Stone and Trey Parker have created a hit TV show, several blockbuster films, and an award-winning Broadway musical, but in 2014 the duo finally cracked the code with video games and released the critically-acclaimed South Park: The Stick of Truth. Now South Park’s creators have teamed up with Ubisoft for a sequel that looks to deliver a richer gameplay experience and a longer narrative without sacrificing any of South Park’s iconic humor. After an exclusive behind-closed-doors tour of Ubisoft San Francisco's office, we returned with a detailed look at what sets The Fractured But Whole apart from its predecessor, and why it has the potential to be one of the funniest games ever made.

October 2016 - Horizon Zero Dawn

Guerrilla Games surprised and intrigued many when it debuted its new franchise, Horizon Zero Dawn, at E3 in 2015. The Dutch developer is best known for its work on the Killzone franchise, but after toiling on that series for over a decade, decided it was time to change things up. Horizon Zero Dawn is an open-world action/RPG starring a fierce redhead named Aloy. She must survive in a post-post apocalyptic world where machines have taken over and humans are living in a primitive state at the bottom of the food chain. We traveled to Guerrilla Games’ studio in Amsterdam to find out how Horizon Zero Dawn became a reality and why the team wanted to try a new genre.

September 2016 - Destiny: Rise of Iron

Since its launch in September 2014, Destiny has defied even ambitious estimates regarding its potential reach, blossoming to tens of millions of registered users. Players have embraced the distant future setting, which sees a beleaguered humanity struggling against innumerable alien threats across a solar system that witnessed Earth’s golden age pass long ago. With its upcoming September release, Bungie is shifting focus, exploring the history of legendary heroes who sealed away a deadly threat, and allowing players to join that same order of warriors as the threat reemerges. We traveled to Bungie’s studio to get the full scoop on Rise of Iron, the expansion that launches Destiny’s third and final year before a sequel. We played it, interviewed its creators, and dug deep into everything from the latest PvP game modes to the new raid, and even learned about where Bungie is heading in the months after Rise of Iron launches.
