Presentations

Building an Ember Application in 25 minutes

This is a whirlwind tour of Ember.js by Blake Mills. It should serve as an introduction to Ember.js and a way to show off some core Ember concepts. We'll build an Ember.js application from scratch in 20 minutes.

Promises, Promises

This is an overview of JavaScript promises by Kerrick Long. Promises are a new way to think about asynchronous operations and are used by Ember.js and Angular, among others. They'll also be native in ECMAScript 6, so come learn about the future and use it today!

Location

The STL Ember.js meetup is hosted by Second Street. We're at 11th & Olive downtown, in the historic Laclede Gas Light building. Come in the door with the black awning, and we're the first door on the left!

If you're driving, St. Louis City metered parking is free after 7pm. Alternatively, we're only a few blocks away from the 8th & Pine MetroLink Station.

Schedule

Because the first Thursday will conflict with the Lambda Lounge meetup and since our interests align, we should discuss changing future Ember.js meetups to the fourth Tuesday.

That would make future meetups occur on Feb 25, Mar 25, April 22, and so forth. We'll get feedback at this meetup on Feb 6 and see if that change would be feasible.
