Nocturnal clitoral tumescence (NCT) is a spontaneous swelling of the clitoris during sleep or when waking up. Similar to the process in males, nocturnal penile tumescence, women also experience clitoris tumescence or engorgement of the vagina, mainly during REM sleep phase.[1]
