Kenny Rogers to Receive ASCAP Honor

Kenny Rogers will be honored with the prestigious Golden Note Award during the 45th Annual ASCAP Country Music Awards ceremony, Oct. 15, in Nashville.

The ASCAP Golden Note Award is presented to songwriters, composers and artists who have achieved outstanding career milestones. Previous honorees have included Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, rocker Tom Petty, Stevie Wonder and others. Kenny has been a major force in recording since the 1970s, with songs like “The Gambler,” “Lady” and “She Believes in Me,” which were hits on both the country and pop charts. The gala event from Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium will also honor the songwriters and publishers of ASCAP’s most performed country songs of the year.
