Liverpool midfielder Emre Can will be hoping for the perfect birthday present when his side host Premier League leaders Arsenal on Wednesday.

The German has been an ever-present under Jurgen Klopp and continues to be one of the Reds most consistent performers.

And Can, who celebrated turning 22 on Tuesday, took to Instagram to show off his impressive cake.

He said: 'Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! And a special thank to my bro @cnyt12 for the cake #22 #ynwa #liverpool.' 

Ahead of the game, Klopp admitted his side are up against it on Wednesday but is thriving going up against Arsene Wenger.

He said: 'Arsenal and Arsene have their own style, it's possession football, so it's clear that if we want to play the same way we will be without a chance because they've been doing it for longer.

'Arsenal are not only a good possession team, that's the problem, they have good counter-attacks too and that's what you have to be aware of.

'It's a job but it's a really nice job to think about solutions and how to stop them coming through with their plan. I like things like this.'
