Smartphone requirement:

  • You need an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, or newer model running iOS 9.2 or above.

Compatible NumberSync devices:

  • Most iPad devices running iOS 9 and higher
  • Apple Watch running watchOS 2 and higher
  • Most iPod touch devices running iOS 9 and higher
  • Most Mac computers running OS X El Capitan

  • Your mobile phone must be an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, or 6s Plus running iOS 9.2 or above.
  • You must enable Wi-Fi Calling on your iPhone first. For information on how to set up Wi-Fi Calling, visit the Wi-Fi Calling support page.
  • You need to have a compatible NumberSync device. Your smartphone and compatible devices must share the same Apple ID.
  • Your NumberSync device must have access to a broadband connection. This can be over Wi-Fi or a wired broadband connection.

NumberSync works even if your iPhone is turned off or your Apple devices are on different Wi-Fi networks. With NumberSync, the synced devices just need to have access to the Internet with a Wi-Fi or wired broadband connection.

There is no additional cost for using NumberSync.

If you use NumberSync to make or receive domestic calls from the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands, there are no extra charges. Also, these calls don’t count against your voice plan usage limits. Your current plan’s rates apply to international long distance calls. NumberSync calls can only be made while you are in the U.S., Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.

You can sync up to five compatible devices with NumberSync.

Yes, if all of the devices have NumberSync turned on, all your devices will ring. You can manually turn NumberSync off for each device. For more details on using NumberSync, see the NumberSync support page.

NumberSync from AT&T gives you the freedom to use your primary mobile phone number on your compatible smart watch. Your phone doesn’t even need to be nearby or turned on.

  • Leave the phone behind: Use your mobile number to make and receive calls and text messages on your smart watch, even when it’s outside of Bluetooth® range.
  • One number: Calls and texts from your smart watch will display as your mobile number.
  • One voicemail: Check your smartphone voicemails from your synced smart watch

NumberSync for wearables lets you use your smartphone mobile number on your wearable device. Now you can make and receive calls and send and receive text messages on your wearable. The best part is that you don’t need to stay close to your phone to use NumberSync!

You need the following:

  •  AT&T postpaid wireless account that’s been set up for AT&T HD Voice
  •  An AT&T HD Voice-compatible smartphone
  •  A wearable device that supports NumberSync and has eligible AT&T wireless service

For the Samsung Gear S2, you’ll also need an Android smartphone with an OS that’s version 4.4 or higher.

There’s no additional cost beyond that of the wireless rate plans for your wearable device and smartphone. Note that data rates, rather than messaging rates, apply when you use NumberSync to send and receive text messages.

NumberSync will soon be available for the Samsung Gear S2. Please check our website often for updates as other wearables that support NumberSync become available.

You can sync up to five (5) wearable devices to your AT&T mobile number.

You can use NumberSync for wearables in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and U.S. Virgin Islands, and when roaming abroad. If you’re outside the AT&T-owned and operated domestic coverage area, calls from your wearable will show your wearable’s number, not your smartphone number. When roaming, the voice and data roaming rates for your wearable rate plan or international travel package will apply..

No, they don’t. You can use NumberSync on your compatible wearable even if your smartphone is in a different location or turned off.

No, it’s not available yet for customers with smartphones on prepaid service. It also won’t support devices on business or government accounts. (This applies to Corporate Responsibility User lines.) Remember, you need to have a compatible smartphone and wearable, and your smartphone account must be set up for AT&T HD Voice.
