PUBLIC  NOTICE

The Bi-State Development Agency, d.b.a. Metro (Agency) designated recipient for Federal Transit Administration [FTA] funds, has applied for Section 5307 Federal Urbanized Area Formula Funds for Fiscal Year 2011 under Title 49 United States Code (U.S.C.) of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).  This Program of Projects will utilize funds apportioned and otherwise granted to the Agency.  The Agency has projected $38,478,814 in capital funds.  The projects are programmed in the urbanized area’s Transportation Improvement Program [TIP] and will be used to support transit services for the area.

The Agency hereby requests comments on the following Program of Projects and Budget and on the Agency’s performance.  All comments should be sent to the contact person identified at the end of this public notice.

The Agency is offering an opportunity for a public hearing on the Proposed Program of Projects and Budget.  Any person interested in a public hearing must request in writing that such a hearing be held.  If written requests are received from at least ten (10) citizens, a hearing will be held.  If fewer that ten (10) requests are received, no hearing will be held.

Requests for a public hearing or other comments must be postmarked no later than June 24, 2011.  A Final Program of Projects and Budget will be published, if necessary, incorporating any changes made as a result of written comments or a public hearing.  If no written comments requesting changes are received or if insufficient requests for a public hearing are received, this notice will constitute the Final Program of Projects and Budget.

Section 5309 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU).  This Program of Projects will utilize funds apportioned and otherwise granted to the Agency.  The Agency has projected $14,113,223 in capital funds.  The projects are programmed in the urbanized area’s Transportation Improvement Program [TIP] and will be used to support transit services for the area.

The Agency hereby requests comments on the following Program of Projects and Budget and on the Agency’s performance.  All comments should be sent to the contact person identified at the end of this public notice.
