To encourage accountability and transparency and promote democratic values and norms through the performing arts. Bardali Kala Samuha will train three local theater groups in conceptualizing and executing forum theater on issues of local governance and service delivery. Bardali and the theater groups will perform shows in five districts that suffer from corrupt practices and poor governance.

Advancing Democratic & Economic Policy Reforms
To improve the quality of policy dialogue through an improved understanding of the benefits of market reforms. CIPE partner Samriddhi will conduct research and provide independent policy analysis on hydropower to advance reform in that sector. Additionally, Samriddhi will develop a policy tracking tool that will track the implementation of economic policy promises made by the Nepali Congress government. Finally, the organization will publish a compilation of articles addressing issues included in the Nepal Economic Growth Agenda it developed in 2013.

To promote Dalit rights and to increase Dalit participation in the political process in rural Nepal. The Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Organization will conduct a multi-faceted program, including advocacy, capacity-building, and empowerment components, to raise awareness among Dalits of their rights and encourage their full participation, including during elections, in Nepali society and public life.

Promoting and Protecting Dalit Rights
To advocate for constitutional, legal, and government policies that provide specific protections and concessions for Dalits. Samata Foundation will monitor and analyze Constituent Assembly and parliamentary proceedings for their inclusion and protection of marginalized communities' rights. Through issue specific research, the organization will document prevailing concerns among the Dalit community and provide recommendations to ensure those rights are safeguarded.

Creating Demand for Local Elections through Forum Theater
To promote democratic values and norms and advocate for local elections through theater. Shilpee Art Group will train local theater groups from at least three districts of Nepal in planning and performing forum theater shows. The theater groups will develop and perform plays in local languages aimed at encouraging discussion about democracy and the importance of local elections.

Promoting Leadership among Young Nepali Women
To promote social and political leadership among young Nepali women. Women LEAD will conduct an intensive year-long leadership training course focused on strengthening women's skills in communications, grassroots organizing, advocacy, and leadership. Through support and continued mentoring, the organization will prepare women to assume decision-making positions in their communities.
