Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (or PCSPs)
The Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) were established in April 2012 as new statutory bodies as an enactment of The Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011. The PCSPs bring together in one partnership the functions and responsibilities of the former District Policing Partnerships (DPPs) and Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs).
The PCSPs build on the most useful and effective aspects of each of the previous two partnerships, while operating in a more streamlined and joined up way.
Membership of PCSPs are made up of elected representatives, publicly appointed members of the community, and organisations which play a role in tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, such as the police.
Each PCSP is facilitated by their local Council and overseen regionally by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Northern Ireland Policing Board (NIPB). They are funded through the Joint Committee made up of representatives from the DOJ and the NIPB. Member organisations also contribute to the costs of PCSP activity by contributing match funding or making in kind contributions.
The PCSP also has a Policing Committee (made up of the Elected and Independent Members) that will have responsibility for carrying out functions in relation to contributing to the local policing plan and monitoring the performance of the police against their annual plan.
Moyle PCSP aims to help build safer, shared and confident communities throughout the Moyle district by:-
· Delivering projects and services that contribute to reducing crime, fear of crime and anti-social behaviour
· Consulting and engaging with the public about their opinions and needs in relation to community safety and policing
Moyle PCSP Draft Disability Action Plan
We are now consulting on the Moyle PCSP draft Disability Action Plan outlining our commitment to fulfilling our Section 75 duties.
The new Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (PCSPs) were established in April 2012 and are responsible for the roles previously carried out by District Policing Partnerships (DPPs) and Community Safety Partnerships (CSPs). PCSPs have been designated as public authorities and, as such, are required to produce a Disability Action Plan and issue this for consultation.
We welcome any feedback or comments you may have on the action plan and these can be forwarded by letter, email, telephone, fax or text phone using the contact details below:
A copy of the draft Action Plan can be accessed here:
