Biography

1975-1996
Verena von Strenge was born on July 27th, 1975.

She started her career with the group Dune being the dancer during performances. This was when Dune consisted of Oliver Froning, Jens Oettrich and Bernd Burhoff. It was this job that led her to become the groups lead vocalist.

Verena's love for dance started at when she was very young. At the age of 5,
she was taught classical dance by her grandmother who was a former ballerina. Unfortunally Verena had to give up her plans of being a professional musical singer, due to knee problems.

After three albums with Dune ("Expedicion", "Live!" and "Forever"), Verena
decided to leave Dune to become a solo singer.

1997-1998
After completing the recording of "Forever" and also completing the video-
shooting for the single "Who Wants To Live Forever?" she left the group in 1997.

Due to legal complications with the contract, Verena couldn't do anything with her solocareer. After a while she signed a contract with Mega Records on which she released three singles.

The first single "Finally Alone" was released in 1997. The second single "Heartbeat" and the third single "Part of Your World", the theme song from Disney's movie The little mermaid, was released in 1998.

The fourth single "Sky (Follow Me)" was set to be released in the end of 1998, but was canceled because the third single didn't go so well.

Unfortunally the singles didn't sell as much as the recordcompany had hoped and so they canceled the recordings.

1999
Everything was very quiet around Verena, and many wondered what had happended to her.
But so in 1999, Dune announced that Verena had rejoined the group.

So in the end of 1999 the single "Dark Side Of The Moon" was released by Dune, and once again Verena was the singer.

But due to legal complications the following single "Heaven" and the album "Reunion" couldn't be released and Dune has stopped their activity for an indefinite time. (See the Dune page for more info)

So once again everything is quiet around Verena...

2002
So after two years of silence Verena was back with the single "Rain & Tears" and it was released in Germany on July 1st. The song is a cover-version of Aphrodite's Child "Rain & Tears", released in the beginning of the 70s.

2003
Verena was again working with Dune...

20073
Verena is finally back with a new single, under the name Moon Dust, entitled Angels. It's a cover of Robbie Williams megahit from 1997 and was produced by Sven Krischner and Alex Strasser. The single was released on March 30th.
