PICS Team Helps Set World Record in Molecular Dynamics on ORNL's New Paragon(Tm) MP System
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Nov. 8, 1994 — A team of researchers from the Department of Energy's (DOE) Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) and the State University of New York (SUNY) at Stony Brook have set a new world record for system size in molecular dynamics, using Intel's 1,024-node Paragon supercomputer.

 

Siegrist Named Chair of International Task Force

Korte Appointed to Ground Water Association
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Nov. 4, 1994 — Nic Korte of the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has been appointed to the editorial review board of the professional journal Ground Water Monitoring and Remediation. Korte heads ORNL's Environmental Sciences Division restoration and technology group, which is located in Grand Junction, Colo.

 

ORNL Program Celebrates 25 Years of Science Education
OAK RIDGE, Tenn., Nov. 3, 1994 — The Oak Ridge Science Semester Program is entering its 25th year at the Department of Energy's Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). The program involves undergraduate participants from colleges of the Great Lakes College Association (GLCA) and the Associated Colleges of the Midwest (ACM). Deans from the 12 GLCA colleges will be at ORNL Nov.
