In profile

Driven on by the brilliance and passion of Sir Frank Williams, Williams grew from humble beginnings to become a Formula One behemoth, unrivalled by all except Ferrari and McLaren in terms of enduring success. Over the past four decades the team has racked up Grand Prix wins and championship glory, and in the process nurtured some of the greatest talents in the sport, both in and out the cockpit...

2014

A combination of an excellent chassis, Mercedes power, and a Valtteri Bottas-Felipe Massa driver pairing sees the team return to form. The FW36 is the only real challenger to the dominant Mercedes works cars, and though wins remain elusive, Williams finish third overall after podium appearances at eight out of the 19 races.

2013

Williams start their campaign with high expectations, but the Renault-powered FW35 proves a huge disappointment and both Pastor Maldonado and rookie team mate Valtteri Bottas spend the season racing largely outside of the points, scoring just twice en route to the team finishing ninth overall.

2012

A switch to Renault power helps boost competitiveness, with Pastor Maldonado taking Williams' first win since 2004 in Spain. But inconsistent qualifying (from Bruno Senna) and multiple incidents (from Maldonado) hamper progress and the team slip backwards as the season progresses.
