Pension gains averaged 8% of total compensation for top executives at S&P 500 companies last year, according to data from LogixData on companies that filed proxy statements through mid-March. In some editions Wednesday, a Page One What’s News item incorrectly said top executive pensions grew an average of 8% at S&P 500 companies in 2014.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC has sold off at least $2.4 billion of oil properties in Nigeria since 2010. A World News article Wednesday about oil theft in that country incorrectly identified the company as Royal Dutch Petroleum PLC.

Whiting Petroleum Corp. is offering $1 billion in convertible senior notes due 2020 and $750 million in senior notes due 2023. An article about the company in Tuesday’s Business & Tech section incorrectly said the offer was all in convertible senior notes.

Total national television ad revenue in 2014 was up 1%, including special events like the Olympics. A Business & Tech article Thursday about TV’s upfront ad sales incorrectly said total revenue in 2014 was up 1%, excluding such events.

Chirlane McCray, wife of Mayor Bill de Blasio, said New York City will offer a cellphone texting helpline for high-school students with mental-health issues. A Greater New York article on Wednesday about the initiative incorrectly said it was headed by Ms. McCray.
